Major drug bust at LPIA in Nassau, Bahamas

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner's Policing Priorities for 2016, Police has struck another blow against organized drug trafficking in The Bahamas, this time with the seizure of a large amount of cocaine and the arrest of a Bahamian male at LPIA on Sunday 21st August 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 8:00am, Police K-9 officers on duty at the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) Jet Aviation Centre assisted by officers from the Airport Division conducted a search of a chartered aircraft that had just landed and found two large bags containing fifty-one (51) kilos of cocaine.

An adult male is in custody assisting Drug Enforcement Officers with their investigations.ANYONE WITH ANY INFORMATION REGARDING ANY CRIME, NO MATTER HOW SMALL OR INSIGNIFICANT (THE TIP) MAY SEEM, IS URGED TO ANONYMOUSLY CONTACT THE POLICE AT 919OR CRIME STOPPERS AT 328-TIPS (8477) (NEW PROVIDENCE) OR 1-242-300-8477 (FAMILY ISLANDS)
