Male body found floating at Potters Cay Dock, Nassau

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man found dead in waters at the Potters Cay Dock on Sunday 9th October 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 7:00pm, police received a report of a body of a man found floating in waters at the Potters Cay Dock. When police arrived on the scene they met the lifeless body of a male lying on the dock who was reportedly retrieve from the water by a local resident. The man was pronounced dead on the scene. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

FIREARM, AMMO AND DRUGS SEIZED

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2016, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team took another illegal firearm off the streets of New Providence on Sunday 9th October 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 2:00pm, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team acting on intelligence conducted a search of an abandoned building in the area of Peardale, where they uncovered .380 Beretta handgun with 2 live rounds of ammunition and a clear plastic bag containing a quantity of marijuana. No one was arrested for this discovery.
