RBPF Crime Report: Murder victims identified - Citizen hands over weapon

POLICE IDENTIFY MURDERED VICTIMS

NASSAU, Bahamas - On Wednesday 15th February, 2012 around 10:30 pm a male was found unresponsive in the trunk of a dark green Honda vehicle at Sir Milo Butler, Highway. Police have identified the victim as 23 year old AKYTO SAMUEL SMITH of FAITH GARDENS off CARMICHAEL ROAD.

Police have also identified the man shot and killed at Winders Terrace, Malcolm
Allotment on Wednesday 15th February, 2012 as 21 year old WILLIAM FELTON
EWING of LOCKWOOD BEND, MALCOLM ALLOTMENT.

Police are investigating both matters and are appealing to members of the public who may have any information regarding any of these incidents to contact police @ 919, the CENTRAL DETECTIVE UNIT @502-9991, 502-9910 or CRIME STOPPERS

CITIZEN HAND OVER WEAPON TO POLICE

A handgun along with a quantity of ammunition was handed over to police by a
concerned citizen. According to police reports around 6:30 pm on Wednesday 15th
February, 2012 the Monastery Park resident handed over the items to police after they were found on his property. Active police investigations continue.

POLICE INVESTIGATES TWO SEPARATE MURDERS

Police are investigating two (2) separate Murders that have left two (2) men dead.
According to police reports around 10:30 pm on Wednesday 15th February, 2012 police received information that a male was found unresponsive in the trunk of a dark green Honda vehicle at Sir Milo Butler Highway. Police responded and discovered the male with multiple gunshot injuries to the body. A short while later around 11:00 am on Thursday 16th February, 2012 police received information of a shooting at Winders Terrace off Malcolm Allotment.

At present police are uncertain of the circumstances surrounding these incidents and are appealing to members of the public who may have any information regarding any of these incidents to contact police @ 919, 322-3333, the CENTRAL DETECTIVE UNIT @502-9991, 502-9946 or CRIME STOPPERS @ 328-TIPS.
POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENTS

Police are investigating two (2) separate shooting incidents. The first incident reportedly occurred around 9:00 pm on Wednesday 15th February, 2012. Initial police reports indicate that a female was standing in front of a club at Comfort
Street along with friends, when she heard gunshots and realized that she was shot to the leg. The 29 year old of Rocky Pine Road was taken to hospital via private vehicle where she is detained in stable condition.

The second incident reportedly occurred around 1:30 am on Thursday 16th February, 2012 at Finlayson and Meadow Streets which resulted in a male being shot multiple times to the body. The 37 year old male was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he is detained in critical condition. At present police are uncertain of the of the circumstances surrounding this incident and are appealing to members of the public who may have any information regarding this or any other incident to contact police.
