Nassau: Housebreaking suspect shot after confronting police with a knife

Nassau, Bahamas - An adult male is detained in hospital after he was shot by police, who caught him red handed breaking into a home on Thursday 1st December 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 12:00noon, police received a report of a house breaking in progress at a home located at West Avenue, Centerville. When responding officers arrived on the scene they met the home alarm system activated and a window forced open. The officers entered the home, and were confronted by a male suspect armed with a knife. The officers in fear of their lives shot the suspect. The suspect was transported to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.
