Nassau Police investigate apparent drowning & arrest 9 in separate incidents

Police investigate apparent drowning - Nassau Police are investigating the apparent drowning death of a man believed to be in his 20’s that occurred on Sunday 13th April 2014. 

According to reports, shortly before 3:00pm, Police received a report that a man had drowned while swimming in waters off Hanna Road in eastern New Providence. Police on arrival at the scene met the lifeless body of the deceased who was pulled from waters shortly after he allegedly drowned. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.  Investigations are ongoing.

9 Arrested by Mobile Division Officers consistent with the commissioner’s policing priorities for 2014, mobile division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities reaped the following results during the past 24 hours:

One (1) arrest for an outstanding criminal complaint one (1) arrest for possession of ammunition two (2) arrests for armed robbery five (5) arrests for outstanding court warrants twelve (12) drivers were cited for various traffic violations.
