Nassau cyclist dies in hospital after being hit by a car

Nassau, Bahamas - A 16 year old male died in hospital on Thursday 5th February 2015 as a result of a traffic accident that occurred on Wednesday 28th January 2015. According to reports, shortly after 7:00pm the victim attempted to cross the Tonique Darling Highway on his bicycle, when he was hit by a 2001 Honda Civic vehicle, driven by a 21 – year man. The victim was rushed to hospital where he was detained in critical condition.

The victim who has been identified as 16 year old Cristian Alexander Mott of Graham Drive, Yellow Elder Gardens, died in hospital on Thursday 5th February 2015.

Investigations are ongoing.

Firearm recovered - According to reports, shortly after 4:30pm on Sunday 8th February 2015, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit (FTIU) acting on intelligence conducted a search of an abandoned building located at First Street, Coconut Grove, where they uncovered pistol grip shotgun wrapped in a towel.No one was arrested for this discovery.

Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding these shooting incidents, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
