Nassau man fatally shot while hanging laundry - 3 armed robberies overnight

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SHOOTING DEATH

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a shooting incident that has left one man dead on Sunday 9th November 2014.

According to reports, shortly after 9:00pm, the victim was hanging out clothing at the rear of his residence located at Lightbourne and Seymour Streets, Yellow Elder Gardens, when he was shot to the leg and abdomen by a man armed with a handgun who fled on foot. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as  34  year old Valentino Frederick Lightbourne of Lightbourne and Seymour Streets.

Investigations are ongoing.


POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING THREE ARMED ROBBERIES

In the first incident, shortly before 9:00pm on Sunday 9th November 2014, a man was walking on Wulff Road, when a man armed with handgun robbed him of a cell phone and cash before fleeing on foot.

In the second incident, shortly before 9:00pm on Sunday 9th November 2014, a woman was standing in front of her home located at Bougainvillea Avenue, when a man armed with handgun robbed him of her handbag containing personal items before fleeing in a white Toyota vehicle.

In the third incident, shortly after 3:00am on Monday 10th November 2014, a man was standing in front of a business establishment located on Carmichael Road, when two men armed with handguns robbed him of a small amount of cash before fleeing on foot. Investigations are ongoing.


POLICE are appealing to anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of wanted persons or any information about crimes and other illegal activities in their communities, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands) or the nearest Police Station
