Nassau police arrest four after two drug arrests

2 MALES ARRESTED DURING POLICE OPERATION FOR DRUG POSSESSION

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, police are reporting the arrest of two 20 -year old males for drug possession during an operation conducted yesterday.

According to reports, shortly before 3:00pm yesterday, police were conducting a road check at the junction of Marathon Road and Samana Drive, when they observed the two suspects attempting to speed away in a black Honda Accord vehicle. The police brought the vehicle to a stop and during a search of the vehicle found a quantity of cocaine. The two suspects were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court sometime today to be formally charged.

DRUGS SEIZED BY FTIU OFFICERS, 2 SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY

According to reports, around 12:30pm yesterday, officers from the Firearm Tracing and Investigation Unit (FTIU), acting on intelligence executed a search warrant at a home located at Crooked Island Street, where they uncovered 8 ounces of marijuana. Two males ages 29 and 20 along with a 26 – year old female were taken into custody for questioning.
