Nassau police identify 2 homicide victims from Wednesday incidents

Nassau, Bahamas - The first victim is 29 year old Tyrone Beneby of Jacaranda Street, Pinewood Gardens.  Beneby died as a result of a shooting incident that occurred at Jacaranda Street shortly before 11:00pm on Tuesday 22nd April 2014.

The second victim is 24 year old Renaldo Braynen of Toote Shop Corner.  Braynen died as a result of a shooting incident that occurred at Dunmore Street around 12:20pm on Wednesday 23rd April 2014.

POLICE are requesting the public’s assistance in solving two separate shooting incidents that has left two men dead on Wednesday 23rd April 2014.

In the first incident, around 12:20pm, a 29 – year old man (the deceased) was standing on Dunmore Street along with three other males when a man armed with a handgun fired several shots at them and fled on foot.

The gunman then took the victim’s cash and cell phone before fleeing on foot. The victim was shot twice to the head and was pronounced dead on the scene.

In the second incident, shortly after 10:00pm a 41 – year old man (the deceased) was walking north along Charles Vincent Street with a female friend, when two men sitting on a yellow Honda vehicle fired several shots at them hitting the deceased several times to the upper body.

The deceased and his female companion then ran to Homestead Street where the deceased collapsed.

The deceased was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

A short time later Police arrested three men ages 28, 23 and 21 years old along with a 21 –year old female in connection with this incident.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding these latest homicides,  no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
