Nassau police investigate 2 armed robberies on Sunday - 2 arrested for firearm possession

POLICE SEARCHING FOR TWO SUSPECTS IN SEPARATE ARMED ROBBERIES

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are asking the public to come forth with any information they may have to assist in locating two male suspects in two separate armed robberies that occurred on Sunday 28th May 2017.

In the first incident, shortly after 12:00noon, a man was about to make a deposit at a local bank on Madeira Street, Palmdale, when a male armed with a handgun approached and robbed him of a deposit bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled in a waiting Honda CRV vehicle being driven by another man.

Then shortly after 1:00pm, a man armed with a shotgun robbed a business establishment located on Mermaid Boulevard off Carmichael Road of a large amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

Investigations are ongoing.


TWO MALES IN CUSTODY FOR FIREARM POSSESSION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Mobile Division officers took two males into custody following the seizure of a handgun on Sunday 28th May 2017.

According to report, around 12:00noon, officers assigned to the Mobile Division acting on information intercepted a Public Service bus on Prince Charles Drive near Fox Hill Road. A .45 Springfield pistol with 12 rounds of ammunition was uncovered and two males were taken into custody for questioning.

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SUNDAY SHOOTING DEATH

Police are searching for a white Honda vehicle last seen leaving the scene of a shooting incident that has claimed the life of a man on Sunday 28th May 2017.

According to report, shortly after 12:00noon, Police received a report that a man was shot at Boatswain Hill off Carmichael Road West. Responding officers on arrival at the scene met the lifeless body of a male who had been shot. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.
