POLICE INVESTIGATING TWO SHOOTINGS
Nassau, Bahamas - Police are investigating two separate shooting incidents that have left two men detained in in hospital on
Tuesday 14th March 2017.
In the first incident, shortly after 9:00pm, a man showed up to hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot
wound. He was treated and detained in stable condition.
Then shortly after 10:00pm, two men were fighting on East Bay Street that led to a man standing in the area
being shot. The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team took into custody an adult male for possession of dangerous drugs on Tuesday 14th March 2017.
According to reports, shortly after 9:00pm, Selective Enforcement Team officers were on routine patrol on Martin Street, where a man was seen acting in a manner that aroused their suspicions of him. The man was accosted, searched and a quantity of marijuana was found in his possession. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody in connection with the find.
