Nassau police launch island-wide manhunt for suspects in early morning shooting, 3 taken into custody

Nassau, Bahama - Police have launched an island-wide manhunt for the suspects involved in a shooting incident that have left a woman dead early this morning.

According to reports, around 3:30am, the victim who is a woman in her early 60s along with other family members was at their home located at Old Cedar Street, Yellow Elder Gardens, when several persons attempted to burn their house down. Shortly thereafter, the persons began firing several shots at the home. The victim was awaken by the shots being fired and was shot to the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Also an adult male resident of the home was shot to the arm and transported to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Police can confirm that three adult males have been taken into custody in connection with this incident, one of the suspects include Trevardo Taylor who surrendered to officers at the Central Detective Unit.Investigations are ongoing.

Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding these shooting incidents, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
