Nassau police launch manhunt for suspects in double-shooting incident

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating the suspects in a double shooting that has left one man dead and another detained in hospital on Wednesday 18th March 2015.

Preliminary reports are, that shortly after 8:30pm, two men were sitting down in front of a residence located at West Avenue off Carmichael Road, when a man armed with handgun fired several shots at them. One of the men succumbed to his injuries at the scene and the other was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition.

A short while later, police officers responding to the scene saw a suspicious Honda vehicle speeding away from the area of the incident, resulting high-speed chase throughout the southern district. The chase came to an end when the suspects crashed into a vehicle on Tonique Darling Highway and fled on foot. Police gave chase and arrested one of the suspects. Police also recovered a firearm.
