POLICE SEARCHING FOR TWO SUSPECTS IN SHOOTING

Nassau, Bahamas - Reports are that shortly before 9:00am on Wednesday 22nd February 2017, two men were driving in a vehicle on Cowpen Road, when two males pulled up in a white Honda Fit vehicle and shot one of them before speeding off. The victim was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

HANDGUN SEIZED, TWO IN CUSTODY

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Southwestern Division officers took two adult males into custody following the seizure of a handgun on Tuesday 21st February 2017.

According to reports, around 4:00pm, Southwestern Division officers were on routine patrol in Sunset Park, where there saw two males walking who aroused their suspicion. The two males on seeing the officers fled on foot and threw a handgun under a parked vehicle. The officers gave chase and caught the two males. A pistol with 8 live rounds of ammunition was retrieved from under the parked vehicle. The two males suspects were subsequently taken into custody.

DRIVER SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

Police are reporting that a male driver has succumbed to injuries sustained in a traffic accident that occurred on Charles Saunders Highway on 6th February 2017, in which a female died.

This second victim died on Wednesday 22nd February 2017.
