Nassau police search for sexual assault suspect - 16 arrests made

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN LOCATING SUSPECT IN SEXUAL ASSAULT

Nassau, Bahamas - According to reports, shortly, before 5:00am on Sunday 25th January 2015, a woman was at her St. Michael’s Road residence, when a man armed with an object forced his way into her home and woke her up. The man then robbed the woman of cash and sexually assaulted her before fleeing on foot.

Investigations are ongoing.


Police are appealing to anyone who may have information about this incident. You may call 911, 919, or 350-3106, 350-3107 or your nearest police station. You may do so anonymously. Information will be strictly confidential.

 

8 ARRESTED DURING POLICE ANTI-CRIME OPERATION

POLICE are reporting the arrest of 8 persons for dangerous drugs, murder, armed robbery, housebreaking and robbery, as their anti-crime operation continued last night.

The operation which is consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, targeted persons involved in criminal activities, such as drugs and firearms, persons wanted for various criminal offences, prolific offenders and persons wanted for outstanding criminal warrants.The operation was under the command of Chief Superintendent Theophilus Cunningham.

8 ARRESTED DURING EASTERN DIVISION OPERATION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Eastern Division officers conducted an operation in the division on Saturday 24th January 2015 that targeted persons wanted for various criminal offences.The operation resulted in the arrest of 8 persons for dangerous drugs, housebreaking, breach of the Liquor License Act and breach of the Immigration Act. The operation was under the command of Superintendent Elaine Sands.
