Nassau police seize 2 firearms and arrest 3

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, police seized two illegal firearms and took three adult males into custody in separate incidents over a 48 - hour period.

In the first incident, shortly after 7:00pm on Tuesday 3rd May 2016, officers from Mobile Division acting on intelligence conducted a search of a home located at Twin Court, Ridgeland Park, where they uncovered as awed off shotgun. Three males were subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

In the second incident, shortly after 1:00pm on Wednesday 4th May 2016, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on information uncovered a .40 pistol with 5 rounds of ammunition on Thompson Lane. No one was taken into custody for this discovery.
