Nassau police seize 3 illegal firearms - Drugs found at Nassau Village

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are reporting the seizure of three illegal firearms and several rounds of ammunition off the streets of New Providence in separate incidents on Tuesday 9th December 2014.

In the first incident, around 10:00am, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit acting on Intelligence conducted a search of an abandoned building located at Rosetta Street, where they uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition.

In the second incident, shortly before 4:00pm, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit acting on Intelligence went to Chestnut Street, Pinewood Gardens, where they uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition underneath a bench. In the third incident, shortly after 4:00pm, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit acting on Intelligence went to a cemetery located on Infant View Road, where they uncovered a handgun. No one was arrested for these three incidents.

POLICE RECOVER DRUGS

According to reports, shortly after 12:00midnight of Wednesday 10th December 2014, police acting on Intelligence went to a park located at Nassau Village, where they uncovered a quantity of marijuana. No one was arrested for this discovery.

POLICE are appealing to anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of wanted persons or any information about crimes and other illegal activities in their communities, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands) or the nearest Police Station.
