RBPF Nassau: 3 shooting incidents - 8 arrested during three separate operations - 7 other arrests / 56 drivers cited

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN LOCATING SUSPECTS IN THREE SHOOTING INCIDENTS
Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE
are seeking the public’s assistance in solving three shooting incidents
that has left a man and a woman dead and another man detained in
hospital on Tuesday 26th May 2015.
In the first incident, shortly before 7:00am, a man was collecting a group of workers in his truck at Emanuel
Way
off Soldier Road, when two men armed with a handgun in a silver Honda
vehicle pulled up and demanded cash. The two men then robbed the victim
of cash and jewelry before shooting him to the hip, hands and stomach.
The men then made good their escape in their Honda vehicle. The victim
was pronounced dead on the scene.
In the second incident, shortly after 5:00pm, a man was walking in the area of 7th Street and Coconut Grove
Avenue,
when the occupants of a red Dodge Ram truck pulled up and shot him to
the left side of his body before speeding off. The victim was rushed to
hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
In the third incident, around 11:00pm, a woman was standing on the porch of her home located on Plametto
Avenue,
when she got into and altercation with a male who shot her to the face
and fled the scene. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigations are continuing.
8 ARRESTED DURING THREE SEPARATE POLICE OPERATIONS
POLICE are reporting the arrest of 8 persons during separate operations conducted by officers from the Southeastern and Southwestern Divisions on Tuesday 26th May 2015.
During the operation conducted by Southeastern Division officers, 5 persons
were arrested for causing damage, assault and outstanding court warrants
During the operation conducted by Southwestern Division officers, 3 persons were arrested for stealing from a vehicle, stolen vehicle and rape.
7 ARRESTED AND 56 DRIVERS CITED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of seven (7) persons during the past 24 hours for various offences. Additionally 56 drivers were cited for various traffic violations.
