D.E.U OFFICERS MAKE MAJOR DRUG ARREST
Five (5) people, three (3) Bahamians, ages 56, 45 and 32 along with two (2) Guyanese ages 28 and 26 years, are in police custody after they were found in possession of a large quantity of suspected cocaine.
Preliminary reports indicate that around 5:00 pm on Sunday 19th February, 2012 officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on information proceeded to Bayshore Marina, East Bay Street where they discovered the drugs.The drugs weighed ten (10) pounds and have an estimated street value of eighty thousand ($80,000.00) dollars. Active police investigations continue.
EXUMA POLICE MAKE FIREARM ARREST
A 40 year old male of Rolle Town, Exuma is in police custody after being found in possession of handgun and ammunition.
Officers of the Exuma District arrested the suspect around 8:40 pm on Saturday 18th February, 2012, three (3) miles east of George Town, Exuma. Active police investigations continue.
.**ARRAIGNMENT**
On Wednesday 15th February, 2012 a male was found unresponsive in the trunk of a dark green Honda vehicle at Sir Milo Butler Highway with multiple gunshot injuries to the body.In relation to this incident, two (2) brothers’ ages 24 and 21years of Bethel Avenue, Stapledon Gardens have been charged and will appear in Magistrates Court, Nassau Street at 12:00 noon on Monday 20th February, 2012.
