OFFICERS OF THE CENTRAL DIVISION MAKE DRUG ARREST
A search of local convenience store has resulted in two people being arrested.
According
to police reports around 6:10 pm on Monday 30th January, 2012 officers
of the Central Division executed a search warrant on E & M
Convenience Store, Augusta Street and discovered a quantity of suspected
marijuana along with a large amount of cash, believed to be from the
sale of drugs.
The owner of the store a 29 year old male of
Augusta Street, along with a 16 year old female of Yellow Elder Gardens
was taken into custody. Active police investigations continue.
OFFICERS OF THE MOBILE DIVISION UNCOVER FIREARM
In
keeping with the Commissioner of Police Policing Plan, “Tackling Crime,
officers of the Mobile Division removed another firearm from the
streets of New Providence.
According to police reports around
10:45 am on Monday 30th January, 2012 officers of the Mobile Division
acting on information, proceeded to a bushy area at Thompson Close,
Stapledon Gardens where they uncovered a handgun.No one was taken into
custody. Active police investigations continue.
POLICE INVESTIGATES DOUBLE SHOOTING
Police
are requesting the public’s assistance in locating two (2) men
responsible for a double shooting incident.The incident reportedly
occurred around 11:45 am on Monday 30th January, 2012.
Initial
police reports indicate that the victims were on Baillou Hill Road, when
they got into an altercation with two other men.
It is reported
that gunshots were heard which resulted in both men receiving gunshot
injuries to the body.The men, ages 23 and 28 years, were taken to
hospital via private vehicle, where they are detained in stable
condition. Active police investigations continue.
POLICE ARREST THREE (3) ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS
Three
(3) men, two a resident of Sunset Park and one a resident of Fire Trail
Road, are being questioned by police reference to an armed robbery at
Road Runners, Fire Trail Road.
The incident reportedly occurred
around 9:20 pm on Monday 30th January, 2012.Initial police reports
indicate that a masked male entered the establishment allegedly armed
with a handgun and demanded cash.
The culprit reportedly robbed the store of an undetermined amount of cash and fled the area in a black Mitsubishi Mirage.
Moments
later officers of the Southwestern Division intercepted the vehicle
which was occupied by the men ages, 22, 19 and 18 years. Active
police investigations continue.
POLICE IDENTIFY MALE
On
Friday 28th an incident occurred on the Fantasy Cruise Ship, which
resulted in the death of a Caucasian male.Police have identified the
victim as 26 year old WALTER BOUKNIGHT of BATESVALLIE, SOUTH
CAROLINA.Following an autopsy, the matter will be forwarded to the
Coroner.Active police investigations continue.
