OFFICERS OF THE CENTRAL DIVISION MAKE DRUG ARRESTS
Nassau, Bahamas - In two (2) separate incidents officers of the Central Division arrested two (2) men after they were found in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana.
Initial police reports indicate that around 1:00 pm on Thursday 16th February, 2012officers of the Central Division executed a search warrant on a residence at Peter Street where they discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. As a result a 28 year old male was taken into custody.
Shortly thereafter around 1:30 pm officers executed a search warrant on a residence at Martin Street off Market Street where they also discovered a quantity of marijuana. A 63year old male was taken into custody.
Active investigations into both matters continue.
OFFICERS OF THE CENTRAL DIVISION ARREST ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT WITH IMITATION FIREARM
Police are questioning a 20 year old male of Hampster Road off Carmichael Road in connection with a number of armed robberies on the public transportation system.Officers of the Central Division arrested the male along with an imitation firearm around3:30 pm on Thursday 16th February, 2012 in the West Street area.Active police investigations continue.
POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT
A 20 year old male is in stable condition after being shot to the face.The incident reportedly occurred around 11:45 pm on Thursday 16th February, 2012.Initial police reports indicate that the victim was in the Native Yard off East Street when he was approached by two (2) men, one of whom armed with handgun.
It is reported that the culprits robbed the man of his cell phone and jewelry and subsequently shot him.
The victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he is detained.
