POLICE SHUT DOWN PRIVATE SCHOOL
Nassau, Bahamas - Police were forced to shut down a learning institution after it was discovered that the school was operating without a license.
According to police reports around 10:05 am on Monday 6th February, 2012 officers of the Licensing section of the Royal Bahamas Police Force accompanied by personnel from the Business License Authority went to Leadership Academy, located Dicks Point where the operator was found operating without the required license.
As a result, a 60 year old female, believed to be the proprietor of the establishment was taken into custody.
Police are encouraging persons who are operating businesses to ensure that the business is licensed and all relevant fees paid. As failing to act in accordance with thelaw will result in you being placed before the courts.
MAN ATTEMPTING TO STEAL VEHICLE SHOT BY POLICE
A man attempting to steal a vehicle in the Palmdale area is in hospital after being shot by police.
According to police reports around 11:38 am on Monday 6th February, 2012 police received information that a male was attempting to steal a vehicle in the Palmdale area when the incident occurred.
The suspect, a 20 year old male believed to be a Jamaican national, received a gun shot injury to the leg and was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition and in police custody. Active police investigations continue.
