FOX HILL POLICE UNCOVER FIREARM
Nassau, Bahamas -
Officers of the Fox Hill Police Station in keeping with the Commissioner of PolicePolicing Plan, “Tackling Crime”, uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition from bushes at the rear of a night club on Johnson Road, Fox Hill. Officers uncovered the weapon around 1:00 am on Sunday 12th February, 2012. No one was taken into custody. Active police investigations continue.
POLICE ARREST SUSPECT IN TRIPLE SHOOTING INCIDENT
Police are questioning a 29 year old male in connection with a triple shooting incident that has left two (2) people dead and third in hospital. The incident reportedly occurred around 1:45 am on Sunday 12th February, 2012. Initial police reports indicate that the victims were attending a party at Mackey Yard off Fire Trail Road when a fight erupted between a group people. It is reported that a male produced a handgun and fired gunshots which resulted in a 24year old female of Farrington Road and a 26 year old male of Gibbs Corner receiving gunshot injuries to the body. Both victims were taken to hospital via private vehicle where they succumbed to their injuries.
A second male also received gunshot injuries and is detained in hospital in stable
condition. Active police investigations continue.
SOUTHWESTERN DIVISION CONDUCTS OPERATION “BUS STOP”
In keeping with the Commissioner of Police Policing Plan, “Tackling Crime and
Improving Community Safety”, officers of the Southwestern Division conducted
operation “Bus Stop” in the area of the Southwestern Shopping Plaza within the
Southwestern Divisional boundary. The operation was held between 2:00 pm and 6:30pm on Saturday 11th February, 2012 and resulted in three (3) males being arrested on outstanding Warrants of Arrest.
Officers of the Southwestern Division are encouraging bus drivers, as well as members of the public who utilize the public transportation system to always be on the alert and to report suspicious, people, cars and activities.
Additionally, to those perpetrators who seek to target bus drivers and their customer’s police are on high alert and will seek you out and place you before the courts.
POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING
Police are investigating a shooting incident that has left a 23 year old male of East
Street in hospital. According to police reports the incident occurred shortly after 3:00 am on Sunday 12th February, 2012 in the area of a club at Tonique Williams Darling Highway and Baillou Hill Road, which resulted in the suspect being shot to the hand. The suspect was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he is detained. At present his condition is unknown. Active police investigations continue.
POLICE INVESTIGATES TWO (2) SEPARATE SHOOTING INCIDENTS
Police are investigating two (2) separate shooting incidents that have left four (4) people in hospital. The first incident occurred around 4:00 am on Sunday 12th
February, 2012 at Matthew Street, Nassau Village which resulted in two (2) males, ages 30 and 22 years, being shot. One of the males received gunshot injury to the thigh and the other to the buttocks. Both were taken to hospital via private vehicle where they are detained. The second incident reportedly occurred around 4:40 am on Sunday 12th February, 2012 at East Bay Street.
Preliminary reports indicate that a male and female were standing outside a restaurant at East Bay Street when they heard gunshots and realized that they were shot. Both people were taken to hospital via private vehicle where they are detained. At present their conditions are unknown.
