SOUTHERN DIVISION CONDUCTS OPERATION
Nassau, Bahamas - In keeping with the Commissioner of Police Policing Plan, “Tackling Crime and Improving Community Safety”, officers of the Southern Division took to streets seeking out prolific offenders as well as persons wanted for minor offences. The operation was held between 12:00 am and 7:00 am on Friday 10th February, 2012 and resulted in six (6) people, four (4) males and two (2) females being arrested.
Some of the offences for which the suspects were arrested include: Threats of Death, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Causing Harm, Stealing and Possession of Dangerous Drugs. Police would like to encourage members of the public to desist from engaging in criminal activities as police will seek you out and place you before the courts.
POLICE INVESTIGATES RECENT MURDER
Police are investigating a shooting incident that has left a 23 year old man dead.
The incident reportedly occurred shortly after 10:00 pm on Friday 10th February, 2012 in front of a residence on Scotts Street, between West Street and Hospital Lane. Initial police reports indicate that the victim was sitting in a vehicle, along with three (3) other people, when a male armed with handgun fired gunshots which resulted in the victim being shot to the upper body.
At present police are uncertain of a motive for the shooting and are appealing to

POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENTS
Police are investigating two (2) separate shooting incidents that have two (2) men in hospital. The first incident reportedly occurred shortly after 9:00 pm on Friday 10th February, 2012.
Initial police reports indicate that a man was in the Kemp Road area talking with a
female friend when he was approached by a male and subsequently shot to the
abdomen. The victim was taken to hospital via EMS personnel where he is detained in stable condition. The second incident reportedly occurred around 2:21 am on Saturday 11th February, 2012 at Ernest Street off Mackey Street and resulted in a male being shot to the abdomen. Preliminary reports indicate that the victim was involved in an argument prior to the incident occurring.
