Police investigating aircraft crash landing - Seeking public help solving shooting incident at Coral Harbour and with solving 2 armed robberies

Police investigating crash landing of aircraft
  - Police are investigating the crash landing of an aircraft at Staniel Cay, Exuma Airport that occurred on Saturday 18th August 2012.

According to police reports, shortly before 3:00pm, a 9-seater Cessna Aircraft from Flamingo Air, while attempting to land at Staniel Cay Airport, lost control and crashed landed into nearby bushes.

As a result of this incident a number of passengers were treated at the local clinic for minor injuries received and discharged. The aircraft received extensive damages.

Authorities from the Department of Civil Aviation are investigating.

Police seek public’s help in solving a shooting incident at Coral Harbour - Police are requesting the public’s assistance in solving a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday 18th August 2012.

According to police reports, shortly after 11:00pm on the victim was at a park in Coral Harbour, where he was involved in an altercation with a man known to him. The altercation resulted in the victim being shot twice in his lower body. The suspect then fled in a blue vehicle, make and model unknown.

The victim was transported to hospital via EMS and is listed in stable condition.

Police seek public’s help in solving two (2)armed robberies - Police are asking the public for any information they may have on two (2), separate armed robberies that took place on Saturday 18th August 2012.

The first incident reportedly occurred shortly after 12:00noon on Saturday 18th August 2012.

In the first incident according to police reports, the victim was sitting in her vehicle on the corner of East Street and Quakoo Street, when by a male armed with a handgun approached her, robbed her of cash and fled on foot.The suspect was described as being a tall medium built black male wearing black shirt and short black pants.The second incident reportedly occurred moments after the first incident on Saturday 18th August 2012.

In the second incident police reported that shortly after 12:00 noon the victim was walking through Sunlight Cottage off East Street, when a man armed with a handgun approached him, robbed him of cash and fled on foot.The suspect was described as a stout built black male wearing black clothing

Police are investigating and are appealing to members of the public who may have any information regarding these two these incidents, to contact police @ 919, or CRIME STOPPERS @ 328-TIPS.
