Police seek public help solving 3 armed robberies - New Providence anti-crime operation leads to 7 arrests

New Providence anti-crime operation leads to 7 arrests 
- Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, police conducted an island wide anti -crime operation that saw large contingents of police officers under the command of Assistant Commissioner Anthony Ferguson fan out across New Providence on Friday 17th October 2014.

Yesterday’s operation was designed to disrupt crime groups and to target persons involved in criminal activities, such as Drugs and Firearms, Persons wanted for various criminal offences, Prolific Offenders, Persons wanted for Outstanding Court Warrants and motorists operating in Breach of the Traffic Laws.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 7 persons for a number of serious and minor offences.
The Royal Bahamas Police Force remains relentless in bringing perpetrators of crime and violence to

justice, and is committed to protecting the lives and properties of citizens.

We are once again appealing to members of the public to play their part in the fight against crime by reporting all incidents of crime to the authorities.

Police seek public help solving 3 armed robberies - POLICE are seeking the public’s help in solving three separate armed robberies that occurred in New Providence.

In the first incident, shortly after 5:30pm on Friday 17th October 2014, two men armed with handguns robbed a woman in front of her home located at Winton Estates of her 2013 Sportage Kia jeep license number 277899 and sped off.

In the second incident, around 8:30pm on Friday 17th October 2014, a woman was at an eatery located in Oaks Field, when two men armed with handguns robbed her of her cell phone before fleeing on foot.

In the third incident, around 1:30am on Saturday 18th October 2014, two men armed with handguns robbed a business establishment located at West Bay Street of cash before fleeing on foot.

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE are also appealing to anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of wanted persons or any information about crimes and other illegal activities in their communities, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands) or the nearest Police Station
