RBPF: 10 arrested in anti-crime op - Shooting on King St. - U.S. visitor arrested for marijuana possession

US VISITOR IN CUSTODY FOR DRUG POSSESSION

Police took one adult male US visitor from South Carolina into custody for possession of dangerous drugs on Wednesday 27th 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 12:30pm, officers from the Tourism Policing Unit, conducted a search of a suspicious male visitor at Prince George Wharf and found a quantity of marijuana in his possession. The suspect was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN SHOOTING

According to reports shortly after 9:30am on Wednesday 27th April 2016, a man walking through King Street off Market Street, when the occupants of a vehicle approached and shot him before speeding off. The victim was rushed to hospital where his condition is listed as stable.

Investigations are ongoing.


10 SUSPECTS ARRESTED AS POLICE ANTI-CRIME OPERATION CONTINUES

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, Police are reporting the arrest of several persons for various criminal offences as their anti-crime operation led by officers from the Selective Enforcement Team continued on Wednesday 27th April 2016.

During the operation, 10 persons were arrested for questioning reference to murder, armed robbery, rape and assault with a deadly weapon.

The police anti-crime operation is aimed at reducing crime and to send a clear message to those responsible for committing criminal acts on members of our communities, that the police will proactively identify them, thoroughly investigate the offences they commit, and ensure that they are prosecuted and brought to justice.
