RBPF Crime Report: Car thieves caught stripping car - 28 arrests - 3 firearms seized - Housebreaking suspect arrested

28 ARRESTED AND 3 MORE ILLEGAL FIREARMS TAKEN OUT OF THE HANDS OF CRIMINALS AS POLICE MAJOR ASSAULT ON CRIME HEATS UP

Nassau, Bahamas - Police took three more illegal firearms out of the hands of criminals an arrested 18 persons for a number of serious criminal offences as their ongoing anti-crime operation led by officers the Selective Enforcement Team continued between Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st January 2016.

Late Saturday evening the operation team took into custody 2 adult males in connection with the shooting incident that occurred at a nightclub on Nassau Street early Saturday morning.

Then early this morning shortly after 1:00am the operation team descended on a nightclub located on Claridge Road where they conducted a search and uncovered one 9-millimeter pistol, one .45 pistol and one Kel Tec pistol along with 23 rounds of ammunition. Three adult male suspects were taken into custody in connection with this find.

Additionally, the operation team arrested 23 other individuals in connection with a number of offenses to include, firearms and attempted murder.

Persons with information that can lead to seizure of illegal firearms and ammunition or the arrest of those who breach the Firearms Act are being asked to contact the police.

CAR THIEVES CAUGHT STRIPPING A STOLEN VEHICLE BY NORTHEASTERN DIVISION OFFICERS

An adult male is in custody after he was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle on Saturday 30th January 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 3:00am a man reported to police that his silver Toyota vehicle was stolen from his St. Alban’s Drive home. A short while later Northeastern Division officers on patrol spotted two males stripping the vehicle on Abraham’s Street off St. James Road. The suspects fled on seeing the police. The officers gave chase and caught one of the males and took him into custody.Investigations are ongoing.

HOUSEBREAKING SUSPECT ARRESTED BY SOUTHWESTERN DIVISION OFFICERS

An adult male was taken into custody Saturday 30th January 2016 after Southwestern Division Officers arrested him for housebreaking.

Southwestern Division officers want to question the suspect in connection with a number of housebreakings in the Division.
