RBPF: Firearm arrest - Four in custody following drug seizure

NASSAU VILLAGE MAN IN CUSTODY FOR FIREARM POSSESSION

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2016, Drug Enforcement Unit officers took a man from Nassau Village into custody following the seizure of an illegal firearm on Tuesday 18th October 2016.

According to reports, shortly before 6:00am, Drug Enforcement Unit officers acting on intelligence executed a search warrant on a home located at Samson Street, Nassau Village where they uncovered a 9 - millimeter handgun and just over twenty-five thousand dollars in cash believed to be the proceeds of crime. An adult male resident of the home was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

FOUR IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING A DRUG SEIZURE

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2016, South Central Division took four persons into custody following the seizure of a quantity of dangerous drugs on Tuesday 18th October 2016.

According to reports, around 5:00pm, South Central Division officers acting on intelligence executed a search warrant on a home located at Key West Street, Coconut Grove, where they uncovered a quantity of marijuana. Three adult males and an adult female were subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
