RBPF Nassau Continue Anti-Crime Operation with 21 more arrests - 2 additional firearms seized

POLICE CONTINUE ANTI-CRIME OPERATION WITH 21 MORE ARRESTS

Nassau, Bahamas - Police continued their coordinated anti-crime operations throughout the streets of New Providence last night, which focused on disrupting crime groups and targeting persons involved in criminal activities.

Police are reporting another very successful night with the execution of over 21 search warrants and the arrest of 10 persons who were wanted for questioning reference to a number of armed robberies.

Other arrests made were:

3 - Persons for Possession of Dangerous Drugs
2 – Persons for House Breaking
2 – Persons for Outstanding Criminal Warrants
1 – Arrest for Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm, Causing Harm, Assault and Breach of the Immigration Act.
Last night’s operation was under the command of Chief Superintendent Clayton Fernander

2 ADDITIONAL FIREARMS SEIZED BY POLICE

Police are reporting the seizure of two more illegal firearms and several rounds of ammunition off the streets of New Providence.

In the first incident, shortly after 1:00pm on Thursday 11th December 2014, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on Intelligence went to Carmen close off Blue Hill Road South, where they conducted a search of a bushy area and uncovered a shotgun.

In the second incident, shortly after 1:00am on Friday 12th December 2014, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigation Unit acting on Intelligence went to a busy area at Roberta Drive and Roland Street Ridgeland Park West, where they uncovered a rifle.

No one was arrested in these two incidents.
