RBPF Nassau: Shotgun found in park - 2 arrested for stolen vehicle - Drug arrest - Man stealing from vehicle

DRUG ARREST: (Nassau, Bahamas)  A 23  year man is in custody after he was arrested for Possession of Dangerous Drugs on Thursday 31st July 2014. According to reports, shortly before 2:00pm, Flying Squad officers were on patrol on Kim’s Crescent off Baillou Hill Road, when they observed two men in a Blue BMW vehicle acting suspiciously. The men on seeing the police sped off. The officers pursued the vehicle until it came to a stop at Blue Hill Heights off Tonique Darling Highway, where one of the men exited the vehicle and threw a bag into a nearby garbage bin before fleeing on foot.

The officers gave chase but were unable to catch the fleeing suspect. However police was able to recover the bag and arrest the other man who remained in the vehicle. The bag contained one (1) pound of marijuana with an estimated street value of $1,500.00. The suspect will appear in court at a later date to be formally charged.

MAN ARRESTED FOR STEALING AND CAUSING DAMAGE:

A 37 year man is in custody after he was arrested for Stealing from a Vehicle and Causing Damage on Thursday 31st July 2014.

According to reports, around 6:30pm, Flying Squad officers acting on intelligence arrested the suspect at East Street South, who was wanted for questioning reference to Stealing from a Vehicle and Causing Damage.

2 SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR STOLEN VEHICLE

Two men ages 38 and 30 are in custody after they were found in possession of a Stolen Vehicle on Thursday 31st July 2014.

According to reports, around 6:30pm, Central Division officers were on patrol on Meeting Street, where they arrested the two suspects who were found in possession of a 1996 vehicle reported stolen in 2012.The suspects will appear in court at a later date to be formally charged.

OFFICERS SEIZE FIREARM

According to reports, shortly after 5:00pm on Thursday 31st July 2014, officers from the Flying Squad acting on intelligence went to a park located at St. James Road, where they uncovered a shotgun. No one was arrested for this seizure.
