23 SUSPECTS ARRESTED AS POLICE ANTI-CRIME OPERATION CONTINUES

Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE are reporting the arrest of 23 persons for various criminal offences to include dangerous drugs, firearms and ammunition, threats of death and housebreaking as their anti-crime operation continued last night.

The operation which is consistent with the Commissioner’s 2015 Policing Priorities targeted persons involved in criminal activities, such as drugs and firearms, persons wanted for various criminal offences, prolific offenders, persons wanted for outstanding court warrants and motorists operating in Breach of the Traffic Laws.

Last night’s operation was under the command of Chief Superintendent Clayton Fernander.

11 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrests of eleven (11) persons during the past 24 hours for various minor and major offences.

7 PERSONS TO BE ARRAIGNED ON FIREARM AND AMMUNITION CHARGES TODAY


POLICE are please to report that five males and two females will appear in the Magistrate’s Court this morning at 11:00am, to answer to firearms and ammunition charges.

TAKE A STAND AGAINST ILLEGAL FIREARMS BY COOPERATING WITH THE POLICE IN PROVIDING INFORMATION REGARDING THE WHEREABOUTS OF ANY ILLEGAL FIREARM.

Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
