Nassau RBPF arrest 24 during 3 separate weekend operations - Handgun and ammo seized

24 ARRESTED DURING THREE SEPARATE WEEKEND OPERATIONS

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioners Policing Priorities for 2015, police are reporting the arrest of 24 persons in three separate operations conducted over the past weekend

During operations conducted by Flying Squad officers on Saturday 8th August 2015 and Sunday 9th August 2015, 10 persons were arrested for dangerous drugs, murder and firearms.

During an island –wide operation conducted on Saturday 8th August 2015, 6 persons were arrested for various offences such as possession of dangerous drugs and stolen vehicle.

During an operation conducted by Eastern Division officers on Sunday 9th August 2015, 10 persons were arrested for various offences such as, house breaking, possession of dangerous drugs, stolen vehicle and stealing.

POLICE SEIZED HANGUN AND AMMO

According to reports shortly after 4:00pm on Sunday 9th August 2015, officers from the Eastern Division acting on intelligence went to a bushy area at Colony Park, where they uncovered a pistol containing 4 rounds of ammunition. No one was arrested for this discovery

Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) OR 1-242-300-8476 (FAMILY ISLANDS)

WEEKLY PREVENTION CRIME TIP - IF YOU WITNESS A CRIME

If you see or suspect a crime is being committed, pay particular attention to the features of the offender(s) and any vehicles involved. Try to be prepared to provide at least the following about the offenders:

1. Age, color, height, and weight;

2. Hair color and style, beard and mustache;

3. Notable characteristics (acne, scars, glasses, mental state, etc.)

4. Clothing description;

5. Location where last seen;

6. Last known direction of travel;

7. Vehicle description and distinctive markings.

Witnesses who wish to remain anonymous may do so. It is more important that a response be dispatched as quickly as possible.
