RBPF Nassau: 24 yr-old suspect arrested for murder - Armed robbery on Cameron St. - 18 arrests overnight

SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR MURDER

Nassau, Bahamas - Mobile Division Officers a took a 24 year old man of Baltic Avenue, New Providence into custody shortly before 1:00pm on Sunday 20th July 2014 for questioning in connection with a murder that occurred in 2008.

Additionally, the suspect will be questioned in connection with a number of armed robberies and shooting incidents.

18 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS OVERNIGHT

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the following arrests overnight:

Eleven (11) arrests for Outstanding Criminal Warrants

Two (2) arrests for Outstanding Criminal Complaints

One (1) arrest for Possession of Dangerous Drugs

One (1) arrest for Threats of Death

One (1) arrest for Trespassing

One (1) arrest for Possession of Dangerous Drugs and Unlawfully Carrying Arms

One (1) arrest for Causing Damage

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S ASISTANCE IN SOLVING ARMED ROBBERY

POLICE are seeking the public’s assistance in solving an armed robbery that occurred on Sunday 20th July 2014. According to reports, shortly after 10:00pm, a woman was walking on Cameron Street off Market Street, when a man armed with a handgun robbed her cash and a cell phone before fleeing on foot. Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE are appealing to anyone with information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
