RBPF Nassau: 34 arrested during operations - Officers seize handgun

25 ARRESTED DURING TWO SEPARATE POLICE OPERATIONS

Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE are reporting the arrest of 24 persons in separate operations conducted by officers from the Southeastern and Southwestern Divisions on Wednesday 25th February 2015.

During the operation conducted by Southeastern Division officers, 11 persons were arrested for various offences such as housebreaking and stealing.

During the operation conducted by Southwestern Division officers, 14 persons were arrested for various offences such as, house breaking and stealing.

The Southeastern operation was under the command of Superintendent Maxine Leary-Rolle and the Southwestern operation was under the command of Superintendent Matthew Edgecombe.

WEDNESDAY MORNING POLICE OPERATION NETS 9 ARRESTS

POLICE are reporting the arrest of 9 persons for questioning reference to a number of major and minor incidents to include dangerous drugs, housebreaking and threats of death during an early morning operation conducted throughout New Providence on Wednesday morning.

The operation, which is consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, was under the command of Chief Superintendent Ashton Greenslade.

EASTERN DIVISION OFFICERS SEIZE HANDGUN

According to reports, around 3:00pm on Wednesday 25th February 2015, officers from the Eastern Division were on patrol on Dorsett Street, Fox Hill, when they observed three men standing in the street acting suspiciously. The men on seeing the officers threw and object to the ground and fled on foot. The

officers gave chase but were unable to catch the men. The officers retrieved the object from the ground and found it to be a handgun. The men are be sought by the police.
