26 Arrested during operation lockdown - Nasau, Bahamas - Twenty-six persons were arrested and a number of stolen items and marijuana seized, following a police operation in several communities of New Providence on Wednesday 24th September 2014. A number of the persons held are wanted for house breaking and possession of dangerous drugs.

The operation targeted persons wanted for a number of serious crimes and persons involved in the sale of drugs and possession of firearms.

The operation, which is consistent with the Commissioner’s 2014 Policing Priorities, was under the command of Assistant Police Commissioner Leon Bethel.

Police seek public help in armed robbery - POLICE are seeking the public’s help in solving an armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday 24th September 2014.

According to reports, shortly after 10:00am, three men were sitting in front of a house located at Walnut Street, Pinewood Gardens, when a man armed with a handgun robbed them of cell phones and cash before fleeing on foot.

Investigations are ongoing.

Police seize handgun - According to reports, shortly before 6:00pm on Wednesday 24th September 2014, Officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit acting on intelligence went to a park located at Turtle Drive and Bell Show Avenue, where they uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. No one was arrested for this seizure.
