RBPF Nassau: 2 murder suspects among 32 arrests during crime operation

MURDER SUSPECTS AMONG 32 ARRESTED DURING POLICE CRIME SUPPRESSION OPERATION

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are reporting the arrest of two murder suspects and the seizure of a firearm, during a major crime suppression operation conducted in several communities of New Providence overnight.

• A 19 year old male of Peter Street and 31 year old male of Jasper Close were arrested for Murder

• A shotgun was seized from an abandoned house located at Augusta and Virginia Street. Police also arrested 30 other persons for various major and minor offences including arm robbery, drugs and outstanding criminal warrants.

The operation, which is consistent with the Commissioner’s 2014 Policing Priorities, was under the command of Chief Superintendents Theophilous Cunningham, Clayton Fernander and Ashton Greenslade.

7 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of seven (7) persons over the past 24 hours for various minor and major offences.
