RBPF Nassau: 2 shootings, suspect in custody - 2014 Honda Accord stolen - 8 arrests in 24 hours

POLICE INVESTIGATE TWO SHOOTINGS, ONE (1) SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s assistance in solving two shooting incidents that has left two men detained in hospital and a one man in custody on Tuesday 11th November 2014.

In the first incident, shortly before 8:00am, a man was standing in front of his residence at Lily of the Valley Corner, when two males in a white vehicle shot him to the back and sped off. The victim was transported to hospital, where he is detained in stable condition. A short while later police arrested a 22 – year old man of Flamingo Gardens in connection with this incident.

In the second incident, shortly after 8:00am, a man was riding on his motorcycle on East Street North, when the occupants of a blue Nissan Teana vehicle forced him of the road and shot him once to the body before speeding off. The victim was transported to hospital, where he is detained in stable condition. Investigations are ongoing.  

 POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING AN ARMED ROBBERY

According to reports, shortly after 7:00am on Tuesday 11th November 2014, a woman standing in front of her residence located at Theodore Lane, when two men armed with a handgun robbed her of her white 2004 Honda Accord vehicle and sped off.

A short while later, police on patrol spotted the vehicle on Gladstone Road. A chase ensured and the vehicle crashed into nearby bushes, where the suspects alighted the vehicle and eluded police. Investigations are ongoing.

6 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of six (6) persons during the past 24 hours for various criminal offences.


POLICE are appealing to anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of wanted persons or any information about crimes and other illegal activities in their communities, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands) or the nearest Police Station
