RBPF Nassau: 3 men, 1 female in custody following major drug bust - 12 arrested during Island-wide operation - 24 other arrests / 24 cited

3 MEN AND A FEMALE IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING A MAJOR DRUG BUST IN NEW PROVIDENCE
Nassau, Bahamas - A combination of teamwork and excellent 'textbook' Police work has dealt a major blow to the drug traffickers in the Bahamas, after police arrested three males and a female for possession of a large quantity of marijuana on Wednesday 29th July 2015.
According to reports, shortly before 11:00pm, a team of Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit assisted by officers from the Police Marine Support Unit, executed a search warrant at a home located off Carmichael Road, where they found just over 30 bales of marijuana and a quantity of cocaine. The four suspects were taken into custody for questioning.
12 ARRESTED BY FLYING SQUAD OFFICERS DURING ISLAND-WIDE OPERATION
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015 a total of 14 persons wanted for questioning reference to various criminal offences were arrested in a coordinated island-wide operation conducted by officers from the Flying Squad on Wednesday 29th July 2015.
The 12 wanted persons were arrested for various offenses including firearms and dangerous drugs.
12 ARRESTED AND 24 DRIVERS CITED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of twelve (12) persons during the past 24 hours for a number of criminal offences. Additionally, 24 drivers were cited for various traffic infractions
POLICE SEIZE AMMUNITION
According to reports, shortly after 9:00pm on Wednesday 29th July 2015, officers fro the Internal Security Division were on routine patrol, when they went to Grant Street, where they uncovered 20 live rounds of ammunition. No one was arrested for this discovery.
