RBPF Nassau: 3 armed robberies - Woman stabbed - 8 arrests / 24 citations

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING SEVERAL ARMED ROBBERIES

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s help in solving several armed robberies that occurred on Monday 20th October 2014.

In the first incident, shortly before 8:00am a man armed with a handgun robbed a service station located at Sandy Port, West Bay Street of an undetermined amount of cash before speeding off in a dark coloured Honda vehicle.

In the second incident, shortly after 3:00pm two men armed with handguns robbed a business establishment located on Fire Trail Road of an undetermined amount of cash and two cell phones before fleeing on foot.

In the third incident, shortly before 8:00pm a woman was in front of a residence located at Soldier Road and Tarus Drive, when two men armed with a handgun robbed her off a 2012 burgundy Chevy Equinox jeep license number 91823 and sped off.Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATES A STABBING INCIDENT

Police are investigating a stabbing incident that has left a woman detained in hospital on Monday 20th October 2014. According to reports, shortly after 7:00pm, the victim was involved in an altercation with two women known to her at Milton Street, that resulted in her being stabbed in the shoulder and back. The victim was transported to hospital, where she is detained in stable condition.

POLICE MAKE AMMUNITION ARREST

Two men ages 28 and 20 are in custody after they were arrested for possession of ammunition on Monday 20th October 2014.

According to reports, shortly after 1:00pm, Police were on patrol in the Sir Lynden Pindling Estates area, when they observed the two suspects acting suspiciously. Police conducted a search of the two suspects and found a quantity of ammunition in their possession. The suspects were then taken into custody in connection with this discovery.

6 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of six (6) persons over the past 24 hours for various minor and major offences.

24 DRIVERS CITED DURING POLICE OPERATION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Western Division officers conducted an operation in the division on Monday 20th October 2014, that resulted in 24 drivers being cited for various traffic violations.

POLICE are also appealing to anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of wanted persons or any information about crimes and other illegal activities in their communities, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands) or the nearest Police Station
