RBPF Nassau: 3 arrests in drug seizure - 61 drivers cited - Firearm seized

ANOTHER ILLEGAL FIREARMS SEIZED BY POLICE

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioners Policing Plan for 2016, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team took another illegal firearm off the streets of New Providence on Thursday 24th March 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 9:30am, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team acting on intelligence conducted a search of an area near a business establishment off Tonique Williams-Darling Highway, where they uncovered a handgun with one round of ammunition.

No one was arrested for this discovery.

THREE ARRESTED FOLLOWING DRUG SEIZURE

Consistent with the Commissioners Policing Plan for 2016, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team arrested two adult males and an American woman for drug possession on Thursday 24th March 2016.

Reports are that around 2:00pm, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team acting on intelligence executed a search warrant at home located on Tyler Street, where they uncovered a quantity of dangerous drugs along with just over three thousand dollars in cash suspected of being the proceeds of crime. The three suspects were subsequently taken into custody.

61 DRIVERS CITED DURING POLICE OPERATION

Consistent with the Commissioners Policing Plan for 2016, officers from the Northeastern Division conducted an operation in the Division on Tuesday 22nd March 2016 that targeted wanted persons and drivers in breach of the rules of the roads.

A total of 61 drivers were cited for various traffic violations and one person was arrested for an outstanding court warrant
