RBPF Nassau: 3 overnight shootings - Woman robbed while home - 12 arrests / 51 citations

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, officers from Traffic Department conducted and early morning operation throughout the streets of New Providence on Monday 1st September 2014, that targeted motorists who were in breach of the rules governing the use of the road. The operation netted 51 drivers for various traffic violations and the arrest of four (4) persons for shop breaking, stealing, disorderly behavior and an outstanding court warrant.

12 ARRESTED OVERNIGHT BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrests of twelve (12) persons overnight for various minor and major offences.

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN THREE SHOOTINGS

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in solving three separate shooting incidents that has left three men detained in hospital.In the first incident, around 8:00pm on Monday 1st September 2014, a man was walking on Baillou Hill Road near Brougham Street, when a man in a grey Honda vehicle shot him to the left side of his body and sped off. The victim was transported to hospital, where he is detained in stable condition.

In the second incident, shortly after 8:00pm on Monday 1st September 2014, a man was walking on Hay Street, when a man in a grey Honda vehicle shot him to the ankle and sped off. The victim was transported to hospital, where he is detained in stable condition.

In the third incident, shortly after 12:30am on Tuesday 2nd September 2014, a man was at Ethel Street, Montel Heights, when he was shot several times about the body. The victim was transported to hospital via private vehicle where he is detained in serious condition. Police are actively investigating these three incidents.

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN BURGLARY AND ARMED ROBBERY

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a burglary and armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday 2nd September 2014. According to reports, shortly after 12:15am, a woman was at her home located on East West Highway, when three armed men forced their way inside and robbed her of cash and a tablet before fleeing on foot. Investigations are ongoing.
