RBPF Nassau: 4 in custody for drug and ammunition possession - 13 arrested, 55 drivers ticketed

FOUR IN CUSTODY FOR DRUG AND AMMUNITION POSSESSION

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Southeastern Division officers took four adult males into custody following the seizure of a quantity of dangerous drugs and marijuana on Saturday 4th November 2017.

According to reports shortly after 11:00am, Southeastern Division officers were on routine patrol in the area of Winders Terrace and Malcolm Road, when they observed four males standing on a premises acting suspiciously. The males were then accosted and they along with the premises were searched. During the search, 6 live rounds of ammunition and a quantity of marijuana were found. The four males were subsequently taken into custody.

13 ARRESTED, 55 DRIVERS TICKETED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 48 HOURS PERIOD

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Mobile Division targeted patrols intended to reduce crime, and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities, has resulted in the arrest of twelve (13) persons during the past 48 hours for, rape, threats of death and outstanding court warrants.

Additionally, 55 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations.

Everyone should consider it his/her responsibility to report crime. Many criminals target favorite areas and have predictable methods of operation. When you report all the facts about a crime, it helps the police assign officers in the places where crimes are occurring or where they are most likely to occur. If you don’t report crime, this allows the criminal to continue to operate without interference.

In many cases, it is the information provided by victims and witnesses that leads to the arrest of a criminal. So tell the police as much as you can; no fact is too trivial. The police need the eyes and ears of all citizens.
