RBPF Nassau: 5 armed robberies overnight, 6 in custody - Shooting at Florida Court

Nassau, Bahamas - Six (6) men were taken into custody after they were arrested for armed robbery on Friday 11th April 2014. According to reports, shortly after 8:00pm, Mobile Division Officers acting on intelligence went to 3rd Street, Coconut Grove, where they arrested the men for questioning reference to several armed robberies.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in solving several armed robberies that occurred in New Providence.

In the first incident, shortly before 11:00am on Friday 11th April 2014, a man armed with a handgun robbed a business establishment located on Robinson Road of two cell phones before fleeing on a bicycle. In the second incident, shortly before 11:00am on Friday 11th April 2014, a man armed with a handgun robbed a supermarket located on East Street and Robinson Road of an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing on a bicycle.

In the third incident, shortly before 11:00pm on Friday 11th April 2014, two men armed with a shotgun robbed a man walking on Hampton Street of his cellphone, jewelry and cash before fleeing on foot.

In the fourth incident, shortly after 2:00am on Saturday 12th April 2014, three men armed with a handgun robbed a man walking on Burial Ground Corner of his cellphone and cash before fleeing on foot.

In the fifth incident, shortly before 3:00am on Saturday 12th April 2014, a man armed with a handgun robbed a man in front of a residence located at Johnstone Avenue, Stapleton Gardens of his cellphone and cash before fleeing in a grey vehicle.

Investigations are ongoing in all of these armed robberies.

Police Seek Public's Help in Solving a Shooting Incident - Police are requesting the public’s assistance in solving a shooting incident that has left one man detained in hospital on Friday 11th April 2014.

According to reports, shortly before 3:00pm, a man was walking on Florida Court, when he was shot to the leg. The man was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition. Investigations are ongoing.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding any of these incidents, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
