RBPF Nassau: 5 in custody after 2 shootings - 5 other arrests / 27 citations

5 ARRESTED AND 27 CITED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrests of five (5) persons during the past 24 hours for various minor and major offences. Additionally, 27 drivers were cited for various traffic violations.

POLICE PROBE TWO SHOOTINGS, 5 SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY

Police is investigating two shooting incidents that have left two males detained in hospital on Sunday 22nd November 2015.

In the first incident, shortly before 6:00pm, a man involved in an argument with another man on Minnie Street, that led to him being shot. The victim was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition. Police is searching for the suspect in this incident.

In the second incident, shortly after 9:30pm, a man was standing in front of his home located at Lenora Avenue and Cambridge Drive, when he was shot by another male armed with a handgun. The victim was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition. Police have arrested five adult males in connection with this incident.
