RBPF Nassau: Man in custody for Baillou Hill Road South stabbing death - 7 other arrests

7 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of seven (7) persons during the past 24 hours for a number of criminal offences.

MAN IN CUSTODY FOR BAILLOU HILL ROAD SOUTH STABBING DEATH

According to reports, shortly after 11:00am on Tuesday 11th August 2015, two men were involved in a fight at a home located south on Baillou Hill Road, that resulted in one of the men being fatally stabbed to the body. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

An adult male is in custody assisting police with the investigations.

Police wish to reassure members of the public, that they are utilizing all resources to ensure that these brazen and heartless criminals who continue to be engaged in criminal activities are arrested and brought to justice. However, the Police cannot do it alone and are urging members of the public who may have relevant information regarding any criminal offence or information regarding anyone who may be in possession of illegal firearms to immediately to come forward and share the information by anonymously calling Police at 9 1 9 or CRIME STOPPERS at 3 2 8 - T I P S

WEEKLY PREVENTION CRIME TIP - IF YOU WITNESS A CRIME

If you see or suspect a crime is being committed, pay particular attention to the features of the offender(s) and any vehicles involved. Try to be prepared to provide at least the following about the offenders:

1. Age, color, height, and weight;
2. Hair color and style, beard and mustache;
3. Notable characteristics (acne, scars, glasses, mental state, etc.)
4. Clothing description;
5. Location where last seen;
6. Last known direction of travel;
7. Vehicle description and distinctive markings.

Witnesses who wish to remain anonymous may do so. It is more important that a response be dispatched as quickly as possible.
