RBPF Nassau: Illegal handgun found in Elizabeth Estates - 22 arrests made

8 ARRESTED DURING POLICE MONDAY MORNING OPERATION

Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE are reporting the arrest of 8 persons for dangerous drugs, armed robbery, house breaking and threats of harm during an operation conducted in New Providence on Monday morning.

The operation which is consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, targeted persons involved in criminal activities, such as drugs and firearms, persons wanted for various criminal offences, prolific offenders and persons wanted for outstanding criminal warrants.

The operation was under the command of Chief Superintendent Ashton Greenslade.

10 ARRESTED DURING SOUTHWESTERN DIVISION OPERATION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Southwestern Division officers conducted an operation in the division on Monday 26th January 2015 that targeted persons wanted for various criminal offences.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 10 persons for dangerous drugs, housebreaking, child pornography and outstanding court warrants.

The operation was under the command of Superintendent Matthew Edgecombe.

POLICE RECOVER ILLEGAL HANDGUN


According to reports, shortly after 6:00am on Monday 26th January 2015, officers from the Flying Squad acting on intelligence went to St. Lucia Crescent, Elizabeth Estates, where they uncovered a handgun.

No one was arrested for this incident.

4 ARRESTED OVER 24-HOURS BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of four (4) persons over that last 24 hours for various minor and major offences.
