RBPF Nassau: Anti-crime operations nets 31 arrests

POLICE ANTI-CRIME OPERATION NETS 14 ARRESTS OVERNIGHT

Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE are reporting the arrest of 14 persons for various criminal offences, including possession of dangerous drugs, firearm, shop breaking and outstanding court warrants as their anti-crime operation continued last night.

The operation which is consistent with the Commissioner’s 2015 Policing Priorities targeted persons involved in criminal activities, such as drugs and firearms, persons wanted for various criminal offences, prolific offenders, persons wanted for outstanding court warrants and motorists operating in Breach of the Traffic Laws.

Last night’s operation was under the command of Chief Superintendents Clayton Fernander and Theophilus Cunningham.

12 ARRESTED DURING SOUTHWESTERN DIVISION OPERATION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Southwestern Division officers conducted an operation in the division on Thursday 12th March 2015, that targeted persons wanted for various criminal offences.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 12 persons for armed robbery, housebreaking, dangerous drugs, stealing and outstanding court warrants.

The operation was under the command of Superintendent Matthew Edgecombe.

5 ARRESTED OVER 24-HOURS BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of five (5) persons over that last 48 hours for various minor and major offences.

Mobile Division is under the command of Superintendent Perry Clarke.
