POLICE ANTI-CRIME OPERATION TEAM SEIZE TWO MORE FIREARMS OFF THE STREETS OF NEW PROVIDENCE

Nassau, Bahamas - The police are reporting the seizure of two illegal firearms and several rounds of ammunition following an operation in New Providence last night.

Reports are that the police anti-crime operation team acting on intelligence seized one pistol and a magazine containing 20 rounds of ammunition along with a shotgun at the rear of a home located at Old Cedar Way, Yellow Elder Gardens. No one was taken into custody for the seizure.

The operation, which is consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, was under the command of Chief Superintendent Clayton Fernander.

2 STOLEN VEHICLE SUSPECTS AMONG 10 ARRESTED DURING SOUTHWESTERN DIVISION OPERATION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Southwestern Division officers conducted an operation in the division on Wednesday 4th March 2015 that targeted persons wanted for various criminal offences.

During the operation two adult males were arrested after police found a stolen Honda Accord vehicle in their possession.

Additionally, 7 other persons were taken into custody for dangerous drugs, housebreaking, causing harm and stealing.

The operation was under the command of Superintendent Matthew Edgecombe.

MOBILE DIVISION SATURATION PATROLS NETS 6 ARRESTS AND CITES 82 DRIVERS

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of seven (7) persons for various offences and sixty-five (65) drivers cited for various traffic violations during the past 48 hours.
