POLICE NAB ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT
Nassau, Bahamas - A 22 year man of Romer Street is in custody following an arm robbery that occurred on Friday 19thSeptember 2014.
According to reports, shortly after 7:00pm, a man was walking on Collins Avenue, when two men in a black Maxima vehicle armed with a handgun robbed him of cash and sped off.A short while later police arrested one of the suspects for questioning in connection with this incident.Investigations are ongoing.
18 ARRESTED DURING DAY THREE OF POLICE ISLAND-WIDE ANTI-CRIME OPERATION Consistent with the Commissioner’s 2014 Policing Priorities a large contingent of police officers under the command of Assistant Commissioner Anthony Ferguson carried out an island-wide operation in New Providence, on Friday, September 19 in a continuation of Operation Showtime, which was launched in two days ago.
The operation is aimed at disrupting crime groups and targeting persons involved in criminal activities, such and Drugs and Firearms, Persons wanted for various criminal offences, Prolific Offenders, Persons wanted for Outstanding Court Warrants and motorists operating in Breach of the Traffic Laws.
During the operation, 18 persons were arrested on suspicion of committing various offences, while a handgun, a stolen vehicle and a quantity of dangerous drugs were seized.
